The African Connection, a non-profit organization, has partnered up with End Period Poverty to help the young girls and boys of Baumgartsbrunn, Namibia. The small community is faced with an unfortunate reality: period poverty. Girls in the community are unable to attend school due to a lack of access to period products.
The organizations plan to work together to provide access to safe and affordable menstrual products, while also raising awareness about the issue. They will host educational seminars and workshops in the community, which will be focused on teaching young women and girls about their bodies, how to manage their periods properly, and how they can keep themselves and their environment clean when menstruating.
In addition to this, African Connection is working on ways that they can help empower these young women economically.
