In life, it only takes a single opportunity to spark a transformation. I consider myself blessed to vividly recall the moment that opened doors for me. Now, my mission is to ensure that these doors remain open for others, which led to the inception of The African Connection (AC).

What is The African Connection?

AC is more than an organization; it's a beacon of hope for African youth navigating the tumultuous waters of the job market. Our mission is clear: to empower young Namibians, offering them mentorship, guidance, and the confidence they need to excel professionally.

The Journey of David Immanuel: A Story of Resilience and Purpose

Hailing from Windhoek, Namibia, my educational journey began at Namutuni Primary School in Katutura. Despite a stumble in grade 2 that required repeating the year, my determination to succeed remained unwavering. Education has always been the key, and I was determined to unlock its potential.

My transformative years took place at Jan Jonker Afrikaner High School (JJA) in Katutura, where I completed grade 10 in 2010. It was there that my passion for education ignited. Mr. Nchindo Mayumbelo, my beloved teacher, was a beacon of inspiration. His unwavering belief in my potential and encouragement to pursue my purpose left an indelible mark.

It was under Mr. Mayumbelo's guidance that I discovered the profound impact of mentorship on the lives of young people. In 2011, a scholarship graced my path, enabling me to continue my education.

Finding My Purpose and Giving Back

Upon my return to Namibia in 2019, I was confronted by the formidable challenges facing Namibian youth. I saw in them reflections of my own past struggles. With my education and skills, I knew I could make a difference. Originally, I intended to offer resume and cover letter writing services, but I quickly realized the financial constraints that many young Namibians faced. Undaunted, I resolved to use my own resources to establish The AC, an organization dedicated to guiding and empowering young Namibians in their journey into the workforce.

Even in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and soaring unemployment rates, our commitment to our mission has never wavered. We are here to create positive change by transforming the lives of Namibian youth.
