2nd paragraph: Body- This is the central part of your cover letter. In this section, you should describe what you have to offer the employer. You want to sell yourself as the best possible candidate for the job you are applying for and explain your subsequent actions.

3rd paragraph: Closing- End your letter with a reason for them to contact you

Signature- includes your name & and any other way to contact you, such as a phone number or email.

Tips

  • Enclosure line: If you are sending separate items with your CV and cover letter, mention it using the enclosure line. It will tell the hiring manager to look for the enclosed attachment.

  • If you send your cover letter via email, you do not need to include the return address at the top of the page. We suggest you only include your email and phone below your name.
