What should my CV look like?

Curriculum vitae (CV) is the latin word for “course of life.” It is a document that details our professional experiences and accomplishments. 

What to include on your CV:

  • Contact information

  • Full name, address, phone number and email address

  • Academic history 

    • List of schools 

    • Title of degrees earned- year of graduation and the name if the school 

  • Professional experience

    • List of organizations where you worked

    • Job title

    • Date of employment

  • Qualifications and skills

    • List of hard and soft skills

  • Awards and honors received

    • Achievements and accomplishments 

    • List each award with date received and awarding body

  • Publications

    • For any publications list citation including any co-authors date , summary, volume page. 

  • Grants and scholarships

    • List of grants and scholarships, date awarded and institution who issued it

  • Licenses and certifications 

    • List of licenses or certificates, date issued and awarding organization
